“ Really great cute place with a great variety of food including a lot of imported stuff and decent prices considering the area. It's family owned and the service is very sweet. ”
“ This is a great place that I unexpectedly stumbled upon. From the outside it kind of just looks like a small convenience store, but once we ordered and got our food were were so happy. You basically just order your food and they bring it to you after it's done. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was packed with flavor. Another person in my party ordered the chicken quesadilla and is still raving about it! It's really a great find on 9th Avenue and will definitely be back. ”
“ Authentic, delicious, tourist price point. Nice little mom and pop run Mexican restaurant and market just a few minutes walk from Time Square. Selection was made based on their having authentic Gorditas, which are difficult to find in Southern California. Ordered a Carnitas Gordita, a Al Pastor Taco and a Carne Asada Taco. The tacos were tasty, but the Gordita was DELICIOUS!! Crispy corn muffin stuffed with carnitas, refried beans, queso fresco, lettuce and salsa. A little pricey for the portion sizes. Recommend the Gordita. ”
“ Good service. Delish tacos. Prices are a bit high That's the only reason for one less star ”
“ El Mil Sabores My small jewelry company Hanami Real Flower Jewelry, was participating in the 9th Ave Food Festival this year; just this past weekend. 9th Avenue in Manhattan is a real Mekka for lovers of international foods. Foods in the Food Festival are fine, but the small restaurants on 9th Ave, which are open year long. serve delicious international gems. Since as a vendor I spent 2 full days in this Fest, I was looking for exciting foods to tickle my tongue while working. Somehow I stumbled upon El Mil Sabores just bying a single taco, which was phantasmic tasting and bigger than the typical NY Taco size. Next day I came back for more tacos and a delicious Menudo, which they do not call Menudo, but if you ask.... they know what you mean. BTW, Menudo is Mexican tripe soup. Very spicy and delicious. Good hangover medicine if you need one. Even if you are sober or not... do try it! Beware; it is beautifully spiced as the original in Mexico. This was probably my best Menudo I had outside of Mexico... ”
“ As has been stated in other reviews, the restaurant has changed its name to El Mil Sabores. I live in the area and have passed by several times, even stopping to look at their menu posted outside and deciding what I might like to have. It did not work out until this week when i decided what I wanted and went in, It is a combination restaurant, bakery and Mexican supermarket. There are tables towards the front of the space-it is long and narrow with the ordering area towards the back. On one side as you go deeper into the restaurant is a refrigerated case and on the side opposite this, there are various hot sauces, can goods and bakery items for sale. Their menu is extensive. I decided on a light lunch so i ordered the chicken quesadilla [which came with a small salad] which was very good. The staff was attentive and when my food was ready, they told me to take a seat and they would bring it to me. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, one that I would decide to do again but this time, i would make sure that I had more of an appetite so I could try several of their options. i would recommend and return. ”
“ Pretty barebones bakery where you place your own items on a red lunch tray. I got 4 different baked goods and it only cost $9, which is a steal compared to other places. You can definitely tell they don't use any weird preservatives since a little bit of leftovers I had got stale the next morning, so best to eat it while it's fresh! Guava Roll: By far my favorite. Fluffy roll and lots of guava jelly inside. Almost felt like a baked version of a doughnut. And one of the few moist baked goods here. Concha: Standard. Colorful sugary shell on top of the bread. Dry sweet bread inside, perfect for pairing with coffee. Chocolate Chip Cookie: Huge chunks of chocolate in a generous distribution. The rest of the cookie was a little dry, but balanced out by the chocolate. Smile Cookie: Fun looking smiley face made from a light amount of jelly and sprinkles. Although, kinda dry cookie which goes best with coffee. ”
“ The Yelp page needs an update - this place is now called 'Mil Sabores'. Leon Bakery was the previous name. This is a little hole-in-the-wall style Mexican restaurant, bakery and grocery. There are shelves of mexican grocery products (chips, drinks, hot sauces, etc) and some fresh baked options for bread/sweets. But I think the main draw is just as a mexican restaurant. I ordered several things here and virtually all were quite good. The horchata was good, the tacos were good. The chilaquiles were decent, but could have been a little spicier imo. The chalupas were awesome and the tamales were great as well. And all of that was around 30-35 bucks, very affordable for midtown. Overall a great cheap place to get some mexican food. I'll likely be back. ”
“ Leon Bakery bakes all of their breads in house, which are super tasty. They even made pan de muerto for dia de Los Muertos. The store also sells a lot of different ingredients for cooking. The restaurant portion of the store is very tasty, I love their tacos! They are very authentic and decently priced for Hell's Kitchen. ”
